Editorial August 2023

Swiss companies have always provided significant support for the continuing professional development of their employees. Banking establishments in French-speaking Switzerland are also following this trend, allocating a significant proportion of their annual budgets to continuing training. While a large proportion of this budget has been allocated by the majority of banks to training courses aimed at SAQ certification in recent years, demand is now shifting more towards shorter recertification courses (CWMA, CP, CI, CCoB and PME segments), but also towards medium-length courses (less than 10 days) in digital finance, sustainability and banking management.

Continuing professional development helps employees to maintain their skills in the workplace, as well as fostering career development and maintaining their professional network. For employers, it helps to improve the quality of service offered to customers, strengthen the employer's image, reduce risks or meet legal requirements.

ISFB is proud to contribute to maintaining and developing the skills of the employees of its 54 member establishments. Several of our certificates are already fully booked for the September 2023 academic year, and many institutions are asking us to train their specialists in the new ESG standards.
