Two major players in continuing education join forces to offer banking programs

Geneva, September 28, 2023 - The Haute Ecole de Gestion de Genève (HEG-Genève) and the Institut Supérieur de Formation Bancaire (ISFB) are combining their expertise to offer a center of competence in the field of banking continuing education. This partnership will provide banking professionals with an enhanced range of continuing education courses from the first quarter of 2024.

The financial center of Western Switzerland needs to be able to count on the best talent, as its reputation is built primarily on the quality of the services it offers. Its success depends to a large extent on the level of knowledge and expertise. To meet this challenge, ongoing training is a decisive factor. Through this partnership, these two key players in the field of training are providing the French-speaking financial center with an absolutely innovative and consolidated offering: that of supporting the development of a banking career as a whole. This competence center, unique in French-speaking Switzerland, is supported by the Fondation Genève Place Financière, and demonstrates once again the relevance of public-private partnerships.

" This partnership enables us to meet the needs of the industry, by offering programs that combine academic excellence with practical knowledge of the banking professions, while drawing on the field expertise of ISFB members," says Andrea Baranzini, Director of the HEG.

" In the current economic climate, it is essential to offer banking employees a consolidated range of courses, enabling them to turn to robust, legitimate players to maintain and develop not only their technical skills, but also their interpersonal skills," emphasizes Mathias Baitan, Managing Director of IFSB.

HEG-Geneva, part of HES-SO Geneva, is a university-level, practice-oriented tertiary education institution that welcomes over 2,000 students each year for basic and continuing training. The only university in Switzerland to offer four Bachelor of Science HES-SO programs in the field of economics and services, it has been offering a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance since 2009. With more than 30 certified continuing education programs, HEG-Geneva is positioned as a major postgraduate training center in Greater Geneva, particularly in the fields of management, sustainability and digital security.

ISFB is the Competence and Career Center for banks and financial institutions in French-speaking Switzerland. The Institute offers services specific to the banking and finance sector in the field of continuing professional development, as well as career management services (assessment, coaching, guidance, outplacement). Founded in 1987 as a not-for-profit professional association, the ISFB currently brings together over fifty banking and finance establishments throughout French-speaking Switzerland.
