Interview with Mélanie Erb-Zimet, tax expert at Banque Bonhôte & Cie SA and ISFB-certified wealth planner
Ms Erb-Zimet, you took part in one of our training sessions to obtain the Certificate in Wealth Planning offered by the ISFB. Why did you choose this particular program?
As part of my professional activity as a tax and wealth planning consultant, I was keen to find a course that would complement my studies as a lawyer and my federal diploma as a tax expert, in order to combine and enhance all the knowledge I had already acquired. I chose this course because it provides a concise, in-depth overview of the legal, tax and financial aspects of all aspects of wealth management (investments, real estate, pensions). The length of the course over a few days and the final certification were the decisive factors in my choice of this program.
Having taken it during a period of health restrictions, this training course was held remotely, in a totally professional manner and without compromising interactivity with the teachers.
What would you say were the highlights of this program?
I appreciated the quality of the speakers, all professionals in their field, who made the course particularly interesting and dynamic. I found the practical focus on pension aspects particularly useful. This made this part of the course the most interesting for me.
What impact has this training had on your day-to-day life?
Complementing my training as a qualified lawyer and tax expert, this course enabled me, in just a few weeks, to synthesize all the legal, financial and tax issues relating to all aspects of wealth management, so as to be able to provide my clients with 360-degree advice on all aspects of their assets.
Would you recommend this course to your colleagues?
In my opinion, this course should be recommended to practitioners already familiar with wealth management issues, in particular asset managers and financial planners. I find it very comprehensive and useful in my day-to-day professional life, and I encourage every professional in the field to follow this course, which will undoubtedly awaken reflexes during client interviews and enable them to find useful and pragmatic solutions to best assist their clients.
