Annual Report 2024: focusing on collective excellence

The year 2024 marked a major strategic step forward for ISFB. A skills and career center for banks and financial institutions in French-speaking Switzerland since 1987, our institute has consolidated its role as a key platform for developing and nurturing talent in the sector.

A dynamic of continuous transformation

Underway since 2023, our 2023-2026 strategy pursues a clear objective: to make the ISFB a central lever for raising the skills of the French-speaking financial center. In 2024, ISFB reached a new milestone with a record 171 ISFB Certificate graduates, the introduction of artificial intelligence training for boards of directors, and the creation of new programs on strategic issues such as risk management, staff functions or data management.

This growth was also reflected in a marked increase in the proportion of tailor-made training courses, designed specifically for banks' internal needs. This trend confirms ISFB's role as a strategic partner in the HR development of its members.

Enhanced HR services to support transitions

The rapid pace of change in the finance industry demands targeted support. In response, ISFB has expanded its outplacement, banking assessment, coaching and skills assessment services. In conjunction with the Office Cantonal de l'Emploi (Cantonal Employment Office), the Institute also supports talented individuals in transition in their return to employment or repositioning within the sector.

Pooling to create value for our members

Thanks to a collaborative approach, member institutions benefit from a harmonized base of training and certification services, enabling them to focus their resources on their areas of strategic differentiation. In this way, the ISFB plays a structuring role in the agility and collective competitiveness of the French-speaking financial center.

A key player in industry outreach and dialogue

In 2024, ISFB strongly reinforced its role as a disseminator of knowledge. More than 40 publications - articles, interviews, analyses - were published in our ISFB Insight newsletter, and numerous thematic events enabled the ecosystem to meet, exchange views and collectively tackle the sector's major challenges: artificial intelligence, regulation, sustainable finance, career management, etc.

This unique positioning in Switzerland, combining an active associative force, a high level of expertise and a mission of general interest, enables ISFB to simultaneously serve employers, their employees and the wider community. By catalyzing ideas and animating a high-level professional network, ISFB acts as a skills observatory where the views of practitioners, academics, decision-makers and young talent meet.

A vision supported by a committed collective

ISFB's governance structure brings together the heads of the region's leading banks on its Board of Directors. The General Management team has been strengthened by new experts from the worlds of finance, HR and training. It is supported by a scientific committee, comprising program directors from member banks and local HR managers.

ISFB offers SAQ, EduQua and ISO-certified services of excellence at preferential rates for its members, while remaining open to all institutions active in the financial sector in French-speaking Switzerland - including independent asset managers and other specialized service providers.
