Training for better support: a look back at ISFB's Sustainable Finance training course with Marica Biemmi
Marica Biemmi, a graduate of the ISFB Certificate in Sustainable Finance, explains why she chose this course, its strengths, and how it has enriched her day-to-day professional practice.
Ms Biemmi, you have completed the training leading to the ISFB Sustainable Finance Certificate. What motivated your choice?
Convinced of the importance of integrating ESG criteria into our practices, I see sustainable finance not only as an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society and the environment, but also as a way of meeting our customers' growing expectations in terms of transparency and responsibility. What's more, the regulatory aspect was a determining factor in my decision: this training seemed to me to be an essential step in deepening my knowledge and skills in this rapidly expanding field.
What would you say were the highlights of this program?
I particularly appreciated the modules devoted to understanding ESG ratings and combating greenwashing. These topics are crucial to ensuring the credibility and effectiveness of sustainable investments. What's more, the exchanges with the other participants and the instructors were a real source of inspiration and motivation for integrating these new practices into our daily professional lives.
How has this experience enriched your day-to-day professional practice?
This experience has enabled me to gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable finance, and to integrate them more systematically into my recommendations and advice to clients. It enables me to respond not only to their financial objectives, but also to their values and concerns in terms of sustainability.
Why would you recommend this training to your colleagues?
I would recommend this course to my colleagues for several reasons. Firstly, it provides an in-depth, up-to-date understanding of the issues involved in sustainable finance, which is essential in a context where customer expectations and regulatory requirements are changing rapidly. Secondly, it enables us to develop practical skills that can be directly applied in our day-to-day work, particularly in terms of gathering customer ESG preferences and clearly communicating our ESG policy. Last but not least, this training provides an excellent opportunity for continuing education, which is essential if we are to offer our clients a high-quality, differentiated service.
