Mentoring
Catalog | Competency Development
Context
You're looking for a managerial role and would like to talk to a peer who has already been confronted with situations similar to those you might encounter.
ISFB mentoring offers specialists who are just starting out in a managerial role the opportunity to meet a peer or experienced senior manager outside their company, but who has performed similar functions. These encounters provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and benefit from the mentor's experience in a setting free from hierarchical relationships or power games. Depending on the needs expressed by the participant, or by the HR function, ISFB suggests the most appropriate mentor.
Method
- Assessment of your needs through a 15-minute telephone interview, to identify your expectations
- Identify a specialist suited to your needs, e.g. a professional coach with banking expertise, a former HR manager, our counseling psychologist, etc.
- Scheduling of sessions tailored to your needs, typically 5 60-minute sessions to start.
Target audience
- Anyone working for our members
Stakeholders
Sessions are conducted by an expert depending on the client's choice (a coach with expertise in banking, a former HRD coach, a career psychologist, etc.)
Other elements
- The needs definition and feedback sessions take place with or without the employer, depending on the initial request.
- No reports are issued and the coaching/sparring sessions are completely confidential to the employer in all cases, unless explicitly requested by the client.
How will it work?
- After receiving your contact request using the form opposite, ISFB will contact you to clarify your request. During this initial 15-minute contact, we will work together to identify your needs and the resources we can make available to help you.
- We'll identify whether you'd like to benefit from coaching, mentoring, sparring or guidance.
- Based on this assessment, we'll be able to identify the right consultant for you.
- Once this stage has been completed, we will send you an offer, which you are free to accept or reject.
Upon validation of the offer
By default, the program looks like this:
- 5 x 60-minute coaching/sparring sessions
Another configuration can of course be determined based on the needs analysis.
Depending on your objectives, we can offer you various specific questionnaires used in the HR field (Wave, Insights Discovery, etc.) or psychometric tests in the case of a career guidance service provided by our psychologist.
Where will it happen?
- The first needs analysis discussion takes place by phone.
- The sessions take place face-to-face at the Institute's premises, at the employer's premises, or remotely at the client's express request
- Sessions can take place on weekdays, early in the morning, during the day, between midday and midnight, in the afternoon or at the end of the day. Saturday sessions are also possible on request, if the instructor is available.
- Coaching/sparring sessions can be conducted in French or in English (the language will be determined during the definition of the need, to select the right speaker).
