ISFB: the collective brand of French-speaking Swiss financial institutions.
Recognition and legal framework for our training courses
An offer rooted in continuing education
ISFB is the leading professional association for skills and career development in banking and finance in Geneva and French-speaking Switzerland. A not-for-profit association, it brings together banking and financial establishments with a particular interest in developing the skills of their employees, thus representing the majority of the region's banking and financial players.
Our programs fall within the scope of continuing education, as defined by the Swiss Federal Law on Continuing Education (LFCo, RS 419.1). This law lays down the principles applicable to all Swiss continuing education providers: quality, transparency and responsibility towards participants.
ISFB is responding to these requirements with its eduQua 2021 certification, the nationally recognized quality label for continuing education that all continuing education organizations must possess in order to comply with this law.
Collective brand recognition supported by our members
ISFB certificates are statutorily recognized by our member institutions, which make up the bulk of the banking and financial fabric in French-speaking Switzerland.
Each certificate is led by an expert working at a member establishment, ensuring that content is consistent, up-to-date and relevant.
The modules are led by specialists from the ISFB ecosystem - experienced professionals working for a member bank or an institutional partner.
This collaborative approach illustrates the strength of the ISFB collective brand, based on the joint commitment of establishments, experts and learners to the development of skills in the sector.
In addition, ISFB's training offer is supported at national level through its referral by the Swiss Bankers Association(Swiss Banking), which directs its members to ISFB for the French-speaking part of Switzerland as part of continuing education in the banking sector.
A legal framework and cantonal support
Some ISFB certificates are funded by the State of Geneva's Chèque Annuel de Formation (CAF). Others may be partially financed by the Fondation pour la Formation Professionnelle et Continue (FFPC) for employees of member banks located in the canton of Geneva.
These financing arrangements are possible because the ISFB is the Geneva banking and financial sector's professional association for skills development, recognized as such by the cantonal authorities, employers in the sector, and the Fondation Genève Place Financière.
Close links with SAQ certification
A large proportion of our training courses can also be used to obtain SAQ recertification credits, particularly for asset managers and customer advisors.
ISFB is also the only organization based in French-speaking Switzerland authorized to administer the initial SAQ exams for the CWMA (Certified Wealth Management Advisor) segment.
This role consolidates ISFB's position as a benchmark for training and certification of key skills in the banking sector in French-speaking Switzerland.
Clear links with universities
In addition to its LFCo programs, ISFB collaborates with several academic institutions, in particular the Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG Genève).
This collaboration has resulted in a range of CAS and DAS programs, delivered to HES standards and giving full academic recognition in terms of ECTS credits.
These training courses offered in ISFB x HEG partnership illustrate the complementary nature of academic and vocational continuing education, two pillars of the Swiss adult education system.
A mission of collective interest
For almost 40 years, ISFB has been working to raise skill standards, enhance employability and support professional transitions in a constantly changing environment.
By choosing ISFB, participants join a collective brand based on cooperation, quality and trust - serving the sustainable development of talent and the competitiveness of the French-speaking financial center.
