Context

The Swiss banking sector, particularly in French-speaking Switzerland, is a key player in the economy and a natural outlet for many university graduates. Many of them struggle to find their first job due to a lack of practical experience and knowledge of banking-specific professions. This Summer School has been designed as a bridge between the academic and professional worlds. It aims to boost the employability of young graduates by providing them with knowledge applied to the field through the intermediary of practitioners active in banking and finance, real-life situations, and a better understanding of the internal workings of financial establishments.

Key objectives

  1. Understand the organization of the Swiss banking sector and the diversity of its professions.
  2. Acquire practical knowledge that can be directly applied in the workplace.
  3. Participate in a supervised Hackathon in a formal educational setting.
  4. Obtain a certificate recognized by partner banks, which can be used on the job market.
  5. Prepare for HR interviews with simulations, real interviews and professional coaching.

Certificate

  • A certificate of participation in the ISFB Summer School will be issued to participants who complete the program.
  • 2 consecutive weeks, every day of the week
  • In person at the ISFB premises
  • Weekdays, from 08:30 to 17:30
  • Language : French

The ISFB Summer School is organized in two distinct parts.

The first week is devoted to Part A, where participants discover the world of banking and finance through contact with professionals in the field. A visit to a trading room is organized during the first week, which also ends with a Hackathon.

The second week is devoted to Part B, where participants work on their career plans in the light of their initial training and their understanding of market needs. The second week ends with interviews with Human Resources experts.
