Structured, tailor-made team building with ISFB: feedback from Cédric Lovis
September 1, 2025
Cédric Lovis and his team took a step back, forged links and collectively tackled essential issues that are often neglected for lack of time. This was the experience he and his team gained during a team building event organized with ISFB. Here, he shares his thoughts on this useful and stimulating interlude.
Cédric Lovis, you recently called on the ISFB to organize a team building event. Why did you choose the Institute to support you in this process?
I wanted to benefit from the neutral view of an external structure on my organization and my team, in order to take a step back and open up a space for collective reflection. Knowing the quality of the ISFB, its management and several coaches close to the Institute, it seemed natural to call on the ISFB to organize this seminar. Their detailed understanding of the issues specific to the banking sector, combined with a multi-disciplinary approach, perfectly met our expectations.
How did the preparation phase go with the ISFB team?
Preparation was simple, fluid and pragmatic. After an initial exchange with management to present our needs and objectives, we had a second in-depth discussion at which the speaker selected by ISFB was present, for around an hour to discuss the day's schedule and fine-tune the details. As I had full confidence in their method of selecting speakers and the andragogical approach, I was able to delegate the running of the day with complete peace of mind, which made things much easier.
What do you think were the most significant positive effects of this experience on your team?
The intervention of an experienced external coach provided a framework conducive to reflection and authentic exchanges. The approach was both structured and original, with a dose of surprise that strengthened participants' commitment and interest.
Would you recommend this approach to other managers or institutions? Why or why not?
I wholeheartedly recommend this approach, which offers everyone the opportunity to get their heads out of the daily grind and take the time and distance needed to reflect together. This type of seminar enables us to tackle important subjects that we often leave to one side because we're so busy with our regular tasks. It's a useful and precious interlude for forging links and identifying avenues for collective reflection.
