ISFB Certificate
Banking Management and Adaptability

Catalog | Management

Context

For several years, managers have been facing a constantly changing, interconnected environment, making their daily life appear more uncertain than before. Today, the role of the manager is to be able to make decisions without being able to control all the parameters of the environment. In this training, middle and senior managers work on their function as managers in situations of uncertainty: they focus on their personal organization techniques, but also on their ability to structure the group they lead; they develop techniques for analyzing and understanding data; they understand the tools for preventing and managing their own stress in uncomfortable situations; or they practice improvisational situations in immersion.

Key objectives

  1. Refine your management skills
  2. Work on your know-how and interpersonal skills in situations of uncertainty
  3. Boost your career and share experiences among peers

Exercises to discover one's own professional preference profile and ability to interact with others, based on the Insights Discovery model.

Module 2: General financial literacy

Discovery of digital issues in the financial sector, so as to be able to identify the main challenges and to form an opinion without having extensive knowledge in computer science. Review of the history of finance, in order to provide participants with a general historical financial culture, part of which focuses specifically on the history of finance in French-speaking Switzerland.

Module 3: Art & inspiration

Management is sometimes presented as a science, other times as a discipline. It can also be seen as an applied art. In this module, participants will reflect on their role as managers using musical metaphors and practical activities that focus on the elasticity of their relationship to time and their managerial posture.

Module 4: Applied Management

In this module, participants practice leadership in situations of uncertainty. They observe their practice and exchange with each other in order to develop their own skills through interaction with their peers and the ISFB lecturer. Techniques for structuring teamwork are discussed and practiced, so that they can be instantly activated in the work environment of each participant.

Module 5: Law

Review of the essential notions of banking law, with the aim of developing general knowledge. Awareness of labor law, more specifically the legal themes most useful to the manager in his or her role as an executive.

Module 6: Foresight & Analysis Techniques

Discovery of the world of strategic foresight, allowing the identification of possible future scenarios and awareness of simple statistical analysis techniques.

Module 7: Immersion in an uncertain environment

Discover management techniques used in other industries and professions that can inspire banking executives on a daily basis.

Module 8: Communication & improvisation

Improvisation and personal communication exercises in front of a group (elevator pitch, etc.) and role plays specific to difficult managerial situations.

Module 9: Stress Prevention & Performance

Examination information

Poster presentation.

I really appreciated the ISFB's Banking Management and Adaptability program because it tackled the subject in a particularly original way, with top-quality speakers from a wide variety of sectors, such as aviation, music and theater. I also really enjoyed the practical exchanges with the participants and the composition of the group, which really helped to forge links. I highly recommend this program to anyone with management responsibilities or an interest in the subject!

Baptiste Cruvieux, Crédit Agricole next bank (Suisse) SA

I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to take this enriching and inspiring course. The quality and diversity of the trainers, who came from worlds far removed from banking - art, aviation, the world of sport - provided me with useful and innovative managerial tools. It was also a pleasure to share convivial moments with the participants of this 2023 intake.
