Context

Regardless of the structure and environment of the banking and financial industry, financial advice and optimal management of the client's assets will always be the foundation of the business. Whether the relationship is advisory, execution or discretionary management, whether the client is private or institutional, a solid mastery of the investment process, portfolio management and investment risks constitutes a decisive competitive advantage for banks as well as for asset managers and client advisors. This training will allow the participant to acquire the essential foundations of modern finance as well as the understanding of the key mechanisms that constitute the essential cornerstone of any investment decision.

Reviews

The validation of the certificate is done through a written exam of the QCS type (simple choice questionnaire, one and only one correct answer) of 120 minutes. The emphasis is on understanding, application and the ability to analyze and solve concrete cases using the tools and methods seen in training. Candidates are allowed to consult course materials, appendices and personal notes (open-ended exam concept)

Practical information

ISFB Certificates of Specialization are recognized by all member institutions. They are an important professional asset on the job market in French-speaking Switzerland.

After starting her career in 2011 as a Credit and Market Risk Analyst at BNP Paribas (Paris), she gained solid experience in the investment field as a structured product salesperson (Leonteq (Monaco, Geneva), Vontobel (Geneva)) and portfolio manager at a Multi Family Office based in Geneva. She joined Banque Syz in March 2022 as an Investment Advisor with the aim of advising High and Ultra High Net Worth clients on cross-asset investment opportunities and managing the development of the Bank's structured product offering.

Irène Philippe began her career in 1997 at JP Morgan (Paris, then London) as a fixed income specialist, structuring debt for local authorities and companies. She then honed her skills in balance sheet structuring for insurers and banks. In 2006, she joined Société Générale AM/Lyxor to manage hedge fund partnerships (long-short equity, multi-strategies). In 2012, she became head of counterparty risk at Newedge (200+ CTAs). In 2015, she created Indosuez's alternative investment offering (global and Swiss). Since 2023, she has been head of Advisory Solutions Funds at Pictet Wealth Management.
