How to Support Banking Professionals During Career Transitions
April 7, 2026
The ISFB Trajectoires et Transitions program supports professionals in the banking and finance sector in their career transition. Designed to provide a stimulating and supportive environment, the program helps you to better understand the market, explore your personal resources and rediscover the meaning of your career path.
Take a step back to move forward
In a professional environment marked by rapid change, career paths are often no longer linear. Whether chosen or not, periods of transition become pivotal moments—ones that can be unsettling, but above all, ones that open doors and create opportunities.
In the banking and finance sector in French-speaking Switzerland, these trends are particularly pronounced: the emergence of new skill requirements, the transformation of job roles, and increased expectations from employers. In this context, it is essential not only to better understand one’s environment, but also—and above all—to better understand oneself.
It is with this in mind that the “Trajectories and Transitions” program was designed: to gain a better understanding of the banking and finance industry, to explore—and sometimes even discover—one’s personal strengths, and finally, to reclaim ownership of one’s professional history.
Structured into six non-consecutive half-days, this program alternates between periods of reflection and practical application. The goal is to provide a structured and progressive framework to support participants as they explore their questions and take action.
Various aspects are thus addressed by different experts, including our career counseling psychologist, who emphasizes the importance of this approach: “Every transition is part of a life story, shaped by past experiences and future aspirations. These transitions can therefore represent both an opportunity for growth and a moment of vulnerability. When social positions become uncertain, identity is reconfigured, and the construction of meaning becomes necessary to understand what is happening and to cope with it ” (Bonzon, January 2026, ISFB Insight).
Career transitions aren’t just hurdles to overcome. They can become powerful opportunities for reinvention—provided you receive the right support. And sometimes, taking that time makes all the difference!
The program is designed for anyone actively seeking employment or for current employees at financial institutions who are considering their career paths.
Our next session begins in May.
