Strategic Communication: A Tool for Building Credibility for Staff and Support Functions
April 30, 2026
In many organizations, staff and support functions face communication challenges that go far beyond the simple transmission of information. In a complex, regulated, and constantly evolving banking environment, communication also means clarifying, aligning, providing context, and building trust. The ISFB Staff and Support Certificate is designed precisely to address this reality: it aims to strengthen the stance, credibility, and impact of professionals called upon to work in cross-functional roles. Patricia Logoz, an ISFB lecturer for the ISFB Staff and Support Certificate, provides an overview of the strategic communication challenges she will address in the program.
Patricia Logoz, you are speaking as an ISFB lecturer in the ISFB Staff and Support Certificate program. What is the topic of your presentation?
My presentation focuses on strategic communication and the communication approach of staff and support functions. The module aims to strengthen participants’ ability to communicate clearly, coherently, and effectively in complex environments that are often cross-functional and subject to stringent regulatory, organizational, and human resource requirements. The focus is on communication as a lever for credibility, influence, and value creation for the organization.
How do you view the challenges in communication within the banking sector?
In the banking sector, communication faces multiple challenges: increasing complexity of operations, stringent regulatory requirements, a rapid pace of transformation, and heightened expectations regarding transparency and trust. For support functions and executive teams, it is no longer simply a matter of conveying information, but of providing context, aligning messages with strategy, and facilitating change. The quality of communication directly influences employee engagement, internal collaboration, and, ultimately, the institution’s overall performance.
What specific benefits will your presentation provide for the participants?
Participants leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to their daily work. The module helps them clarify their role in communication, craft high-impact messages, and adopt a more confident and consistent approach. Peer discussions and role-playing exercises foster the essential ability to step back and gain perspective, strengthening their capacity to position themselves as strategic partners capable of building connections, creating meaning, and making an impact within their organization.
