Graduating in 2022, Marc Chartouni shares his experience of the ISFB Private Banking Certificate and what motivated him to enroll.

What motivated you to take this course?

I'm a pure technician, specializing in IT risk. In the course of my work, I sometimes have to deal with banking customers. I wanted to acquire new skills, obtain a more cross-functional profile and gain a better understanding of all aspects of banking life. This course, which covers all the key Wealth Management issues such as law, taxation, compliance, investment, credit, fintechs and ESG strategies, seemed ideal to me.

What knowledge has this training enabled you to acquire?

First of all, an overview of the world of banking. I understand what products are used for, and how concepts like credit and investments work. Thanks to this training, I can talk to specialists in the financial sector. I understand what they do, communicate with them and understand their needs. In the end, I'm able to do my job as an IT specialist in greater depth. This training is my entry into the world of banking. It has aroused my curiosity and my desire to find out more.

What did you like most about the course?

I really appreciated the fact that the lecturers were experts from the Geneva banking world. This gave substance to the subjects taught, and I was able to gain access to the world of finance in a professional way, thanks to the presentation of concrete cases. The fact that I was in a class on a human scale enabled me to develop close, authentic relationships with the lecturers. In fact, I'm planning to do another course with ISFB, such as the ISFB Compliance Officer certificate. The SFB teams are available and competent, and it's a real pleasure to work with them.
