The ISFB 2025 Summer School, as seen by Alexandre Damergi

February 3, 2026

Aimed at students and recent graduates who want to gain practical experience in banking and finance, the ISFB Summer School offers an intensive immersion in the heart of the financial center. Through presentations by professionals, case studies, and direct exchanges with industry players, it aims to bridge the gap between academic training and operational realities. A few months after the 2025 summer session, a former participant looks back on this experience and the role it played in his entry into the job market.

Mr. Damergi, you attended the ISFB Summer School during the 2025 summer session. What are your thoughts on it?

The ISFB Summer School was a very enriching and practical experience. It gave me a better understanding of how the banking and finance sector really works, beyond a purely academic approach. I particularly enjoyed the presentations by professionals and the discussions around practical case studies, as they offered a realistic view of the challenges and professions in the sector.

A few months after the end of the Summer School, you found a job in the banking and finance sector. How did the Summer School help you position yourself in the job market?

The Summer School helped me structure my professional discourse more effectively and gain credibility in my job applications. It helped me understand the expectations of the sector and showcase my skills in a more relevant way. Being able to mention this experience was clearly a plus during my interviews, particularly in demonstrating my motivation and understanding of the profession.

Would you recommend students or recent graduates to register for the next session?

Yes, without hesitation. The ISFB Summer School is an excellent bridge between academic studies and the professional world. It allows students to compare the theoretical concepts learned in class with the concrete reality of banking and finance professions through presentations and practical discussions with professionals. It is a very useful experience for better understanding the different professions, refining one's career path, and realistically projecting oneself into the working world.
